Dell iDRAC remote soft reset

soft reset iDRAC remotely

We have a sharepoint site that has all the Server information listed, including the iDRAC IP. Some times I am already RDP to the server and doesn’t want to look for the iDRAC IP again. Or in some cases, the iDRAC is having some issue and require a soft reset but I don’t want to go to the iDRAC page to do that. We can actually do it directly from the OS itself – which means we can do it in a remote PowerShell session / PSEXEC session.

To get the IP for the iDRAC, use below command

RacAdm GetNicCfg

To do a soft reset, use the command RacAdm RacReset

RacAdm RacReset
